The incident occurred around noon on July 14, 2024. Aviation units, including Maryland State Police Trooper 1, and divers searched for the boat’s occupants. According to reports, two people were picked up by another boat and taken back to land. No information is yet available about the cause of the boat’s capsizing. Waste collection, Marriott Hotel, DORA and infrastructure updates among topics at Hillsboro City Council meeting

In addition to reviewing a long list of new legislation, Hillsboro City Council members also heard feedback on several items already approved during their Thursday, July 11, meeting, including waste collection bids, street paving, the city’s DORA and the Marriott Hotel project. During the citizen comment portion of the meeting, two Hillsboro residents, Gary Heaton and Jane Stowers, spoke out against the city’s proposal to expand their utilities to include trash pickup. Tragic Multi-Vehicle Collision on N1 Claims One Life and Injures Four

One person, trapped in a small vehicle, was tragically declared dead at the scene. Three others sustained injuries, one critical and two slightly, all of whom were transported to Bram Fischer Busamed Hospital in Bloemfontein. Another slightly injured patient was taken to Windburg Hospital.
